Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This policy explains what Sageon Creator does with your information. Sageon Ltdis the data controller, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference C1935206. We are based in the United Kingdom and this policy is written to meet UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Sageon Creator is a tool for TikTok Shop affiliates. It helps you plan and write short-form video scripts for products you promote, and - if you choose to connect your TikTok account - shows how your published videos performed.
What we collect
Your account. Email address, a hashed password (we never store the password itself), display name, and the region you sell in.
What you put into the app. Products you add, including names, descriptions, prices, claims and links; scripts generated for you; reference scripts you paste; and the description of your voice and style.
How much you use it. Counts of the things that cost us money to run - scripts generated, product lookups, and similar. We record what happened and when, not the content.
Technical data. A session cookie to keep you signed in, and the server logs our hosting provider keeps for security and reliability. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers.
TikTok data
You can connect your TikTok account. This is optional, you choose which permissions to grant, and the app works without it. If you connect, we may access:
- Your basic profile - display name, avatar and account ID, so you can see which account is connected and your videos stay linked to it.
- Your follower and video counts - used to judge your videos against accounts of a similar size, so the advice fits your account rather than a bigger one.
- Your list of published videos - captions and performance figures such as views and likes, so the app can show which of your videos worked and suggest what to make next.
We use TikTok data only to provide these features to you. We do not sell it, share it with other users, use it for advertising, or use it to train any model. We store the access tokens on our servers only, never in your browser.
You can disconnect at any time in Settings. Disconnecting tells TikTok to revoke the app's access, deletes the stored tokens, and deletes the videos and profile details we pulled from your account. Reports you have already run stay in your account: those are your own results rather than a copy of your account, and they do not call TikTok again. You can also revoke access from your TikTok account settings, which stops us reading anything further.
Product listing data
To save you typing, the app holds a catalogue of publicly listed TikTok Shop products - titles, prices, ratings, sold counts, images and shop names - obtained through a third-party data provider. This catalogue is shared across accounts so the same product does not have to be fetched twice. It contains public listing information, not private data about you.
If you are a seller and want your listing removed from our catalogue, email blake@sageon.co.uk and we will remove it.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To provide the service you signed up for - performance of our contract with you. This covers your account and the content you create.
- Your consent - for connecting your TikTok account. You can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting.
- Our legitimate interests - keeping the service secure, working and affordable to run. This covers usage counts and server logs.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of providers to run the service, and they only process data on our instructions:
- Vercel - hosting and delivery of the app.
- Supabase - the database where your account and content are stored.
- OpenAI - the AI that writes your scripts. Product details and your style notes are sent so it can generate the output. OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train or improve its models. It keeps a copy for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, unless the law requires it to keep it longer, and then deletes it.
- SocialCrawl- public TikTok data. Used for the product catalogue and its reviews, trending videos, videos about a product, public video transcripts and comments, and the country a creator posts from. This is information TikTok publishes without a login; it is separate from anything read through TikTok's own API, which only ever covers the account you connected yourself.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where data is transferred abroad it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account and content: until you delete them, or you close your account.
- Usage counts: up to 24 months, so we can bill and plan capacity.
- TikTok profile and video data: until you disconnect your TikTok account.
- Cached product listings: up to 12 months, then refreshed or removed.
When you close your account we delete your account, products and scripts. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are deleted within 30 days. You can do this yourself in Settings, or ask us to - see deleting your account for exactly what goes and what is kept.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email blake@sageon.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed and cannot be read by us. Access tokens and API keys are held server-side only. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with what we hold and we hold as little as we can.
Children
Sageon Creator is for adults running a business. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data about children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
